Thank you

Thank you again, Montpelier! We had a wonderful festival. This one goes out to our longtime supporter Susan Ritz, who has believed in this festival from the very beginning.

Thank you

Phew! What an amazing festival, everyone! If you've been following us on Instagram, you've had a taste of the celebrations, the conversations, and the creativity that took over downtown Montpelier this March. We are thoroughly exhausted and delighted to host this wonderful event. Thank you for showing up for it, for supporting it, and for supporting Downtown Montpelier while you were here. We'll send out an audience survey soon, but for now, wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks.

As you know, we are supported by a number of businesses, foundations and individual gifts of funds, time, energy, and knowledge. It really does take an entire capital city to sustain this project year after year.

A special thank you to longtime supporter Susan Ritz

After 25 years of sharing amazing films within our community, there are hundreds of people to thank—the founders, Rick Winston and Andrea Serota, those who gave of their time and skills, loaned us space, bought tickets, or donated money.

Shining brightly but quietly, there is one very special human who embodies all that the Green Mountain Film Festival represents: sharing art that central Vermonters may never have the chance to experience, interweaving the festival into downtown excursions with good friends, thereby ensuring our local businesses are integral to the festival, and, most importantly, being a stalwart champion of the power of art in strengthening community.

Susan is a collector of GMFF's artful posters. Here she's posing with this year's art created by Renee Greenlee.

Many of you know Susan Ritz for her deep care for others. She is a mother, grandmother, author, humanist, philanthropist, and to us, a great champion of GMFF. She moves through our community intelligently, perceptively, quietly, and with great compassion.

We dedicate the success of the 25th year of GMFF to Susan and thank her for her steadfast support over the years. GMFF would not be what it is today without her. Our community is a better place because of her work and her belief in the power of people to create a space in which we all thrive.
