SAVE THE DATE: March 12 - 15, 2026

Are you making your 2026 plans yet? Because we are! We are thrilled to announce that next year's festival dates are: March 12 - 15, 2026. Please block it off in your calendars--we are looking forward to seeing all of you again in a few short months!

Look at this fabulous poster for the 2026 festival!

We are thrilled to release this sneak peek at the 2026 poster, featuring art by Huntington artist Renée Greenlee. This artwork builds upon the lakeside cyanotypes she'd been making as part of the Interior Lands series with an abstract of the first known illustration of a settled Montpelier by Sarah Watrous (1821). We love the layering of our city's history with the interplay of water and land and how it represents our community's most recent relationship with our waterways.

We don't typically make "themes" for our festivals, but the one thing we always strive for in our planning is to find ways to bring our community closer. We do that through thoughtfully curating the movies and related programming. And we also do that in the art we choose to feature. Renée's piece serves as a reflection and badge to honor what we've endured with the floods and a reminder that we will continue to endure.

2026 is our 25th festival!!

GMFF began in 1997 with a group of volunteers who wanted to see more international movies. They also wanted to do offer something valuable to the community and have fun while doing it.

We want to honor that impetus in this next festival, both in film and other programming. Make sure to sign up for the newsletters to be among the first to know. And follow us on Facebook and Instagram too!

(Yes, we know 1997 - 2026 doesn't add up to 25– but there have been some pause years in between. We are counting only the years in which there was a festival produced.)

This festival relies on you!

Since the very beginning, the festival relies on our community to make it happen. Now is a great time to make a commitment to the 25th festival with us! Below are ways to support GMFF. Thank you in advance from the entire team!

GMFF is a fiscally-sponsored project of ORCA Media and your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. You can make an one-time or monthly online donation at this link. Or you can mail checks made out to Green Mountain Film Festival to 46 Barre Street, Montpelier, VT 05602.

We love that sponsors return year after year to support the festival. This includes our 2026 presenting sponsor: Norman J. and Doris Fisher Foundation. Thank you! We have many spots for sponsors at all levels. Commit by the 31st and we will put your name on the poster!
