Greetings! It's looking to be a very cold weekend here in Montpelier 🥶. Please be careful and stay warm wherever you are. If you're looking for a few good flicks to catch up on, we'd like to suggest anything from our 2025 festival program.

2026 is our 25th Festival 🎉

This volunteer-led, community-forward program has always been about bringing contemporary world cinema to Montpelier. We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone. It could not have happened without the support of the businesses, contributing donors, and festival attendees who have stepped into the festival's workings. We appreciate all of you!

We're planning to celebrate this milestone, so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram as well as signing up for emails here to find out the latest news.

We are also pleased to have the continuing support again this year of the Norman J. and Doris Fisher Foundation.

Volunteer with GMFF 🙋🏻

Volunteers make help the festival run smoothly. We have room for ticket sellers, ticket scanners, event staffers, hospitality crew and more. The easiest way to watch a movie for free is to volunteer for that particular movie and we will save a seat for you!

Please fill out this form to indicate your interest. Emma is our volunteer coordinator and she will follow up with you. Or you can email her directly at: hello@gmffestival.org.

Host a visiting filmmaker 🪴

Our ability to bring guest filmmakers relies on our ability to find places for them to stay. If you have a spare room, apartment or AirBnB located within walking distance of downtown Montpelier, please consider donating a stay to one of our guest filmmakers. This may be for the whole weekend or just a portion of it. You decide. All hosts will be offered tickets to the festival for their generosity.

Guest housing allowed us to bring in Alex Wiske and Inés Gowland for the US premiere of their movie 78 Days. Here they chat with some viewers after the Q&A.

We are grateful to Greenway Institute for continuing to offer their dorms for a lot of our guests. For various reasons, not every guest can be accommodated at Greenway, which is why we are asking for additional hosts from our community. Anyone interested in hosting may fill in this form. Or you can email Phayvanh at: director@gmffestival.org.

We are currently locking in sponsorships, and there's still time to support the program with your business sponsorship. We'll tell everyone about your support online, on site, and in the program.

We are grateful to Sarducci's Restaurant and Pub, Good Girl Production, Rootstock Publishing, and Whiskey Tit for their continued support of our program.

On average, each movie screening costs $500 in distribution fees, which we have to pay before we can even sell tickets to them. Movie sponsorships are exclusive at $500 or shared at $250 each. If you're interested in a sponsorship, please let Theresa know at: theresa@gmffestival.org.

We do everything we can to highlight the sponsors who support the festival. Please thank them for supporting the festival!

Stay warm - from the GMFF team 🥰
